Primary Program 2010

All the kids did such a great job in the program this year and looked so cute. Bryton's part was "Joseph Smith restored the gospel of Jesus Christ." The twins sang "I Hope They Call Me On A Mission." They have about 12 or more boys in their primary class and they all sang that song. It was so cute. Made me tear up as I watched all these darling boys singing that song and thinking of them being future missionaries one day. This was Brinley's first year in the program and I thought for sure she would bail out on saying her part once it came down to it but I was wrong. She got up there with no hesitation and said it. Her part was "Jesus loves it when I share." Good job kids!

Boys Hike To The Peak and Girls Day Out!

The boys had been wanting to go on a hike all summer, so Jay R. was planning on just hiking to the lake. Well, at least that is what he told me. I'm sure he planned all along on going to the Peak but thought I might be nervous with him taking the boys that far and yes...I would have been! Anyway, they made it and I am so proud of these little guys. For only being 9 and 7 they did great. They told me everyone on the trail told them what a good job they were doing. They think they are ready for Mt. Everest. Way to go boys!!

Uh... lunch is looking a little too close to the edge. Good thing I didn't go. I would have been a nervous wreck!

They reached the TOP!!!

The night before the boys went on their hike Jay R. told them they needed to get their back packs ready for the next day. Brin asked where they were going and as soon and Jay R. told her he was taking the boys on a hike she looked right at me and said, "so where are we going mom?" We both cracked up. She is on to how it all works! After fathers and sons this year, she expects that when dad and the boys do something, her and I have to go somewhere as well. But I won't complain... I love it! We have so much fun!
Our first stop was Bella nails where we both got our toe nails and finger nails done. She couldn't stop smiling. I love that she is all GIRL!

The next stop was Build-A-Bear. She of course chose Hello Kitty. We put in her heart and the most obnoxious meow I have ever heard. I skipped right over the sounds and the lovely girl working pulled the thing out and showed it to Brin and yep...she wanted it.

Giving her a bath

I think we spent a good couple hours in there trying to find the perfect outfit and shoes! Brin loved every second of it.

Next on the agenda was lunch and she chose Hot Dog On A Stick.

We finished up the day with a stop to Naartjie for a new outfit and of course, "The Girl Store" aka Claire's. We can't leave the mall without going there. We had a blast and it was good to have some "girl time."

Brinley's First Day of Pre-School!

Brinley is going to Shining Star Preschool this year. She had the hardest time when the boys went back to school and she didn't get to go yet. She loves school and she thinks she is 16!
I can't believe my baby started school! I tear up as I type that...will not be a good day when she starts kindergarten. Love you Brin!

They had to make a star to tell all about themselves. Her favorite colors are pink and purple. Her favorite food is pizza and ice cream. We should have put chocolate milk however... this girl would be happy if I let her live on only that. Thank heavens for carnation to get a little extra nutrients in there! Her favorite TV show is Dora the Explorer. Favorite toy is her doll house. Favorite animal is a monkey. Favorite thing to do is swim and play in the sand. And best friend is Presley!

First Day of School!

The boys started school at Willow Elementary again this year. They are happy to be back. Excelsior started out as a great school but to make a looong story short, once the original director left things started to fall apart. ( In my opinion...) I am sure there are those out there that it works great for! Sad to see summer come to an end but ready to be back on a schedule.

Bryton is in 3rd grade this year and his teacher is Mrs. McKeever. He really likes her!

Carson is in 2nd grade this year and his teacher is Mrs. Watson. She is cute with them.

Connor of course is also in 2nd grade with the same teacher. So far they like being together and we haven't had any problems.

I was happy the twins were still okay with me taking their picture in their classroom. Bryton said, "No way mom!"
