Valentine's Day and Jay R.'s Birthday

I couldn't find the camera so they are all taken with my cell phone and everyone's eyes look possessed! We had the kids' favorite dinner with mashed potatoes and gravy, roast, corn, and rolls.  It was a fun night and I really do like spending the night with the kids.  I love how excited they get over all the different holidays.

Happy Birthday to the best husband ever!  He is such a good sport about putting his birthday on hold for Valentine's Day.  But it makes a good excuse to celebrate for a few days in a row.  Night with the kids, night out for Valentine's and a night out for his birthday!  The first of January he told me he was going to do laundry for the whole year and he has completely taken over.  I have only done maybe 5 loads thus far.  What husband does that?!! I am so blessed to have him in my life!

Christmas Morning

Every present that Brinley opened, she would turn around and smile with it.  She has caught on!  Too bad the boys haven't got the concept down yet!

This was HILARIOUS! (I can say that now but at the time..not so much!) My friend Shonnie and I decided to make these dolls for our girls.  We didn't realize how much time they were going to take.  We spent many long nights making them. We had to put about 8 layers of paint on them, put weights in them and put them together and put in the hair strand by strand.  They seriously took forever.  Not a good project to start 2 weeks before Christmas.  But I just knew Brinley was going to love her.  I sure did! lol!  There were headbands, outfits, bottles, blankets, binkies....the whole deal....

Here the big moment is.... pulling off the wrapping paper...

She looks at the doll then looks at me with this weird grin.  Her very "unsure look!"  Every gift she had opened up to this point, there was so much excitement with a big squeal of surprise, but with this.. there was nothing!  Just "the look."

She turned around and never looked back again.  Just pretended like she never opened the gift!  I was ready to burst into tears!  I still don't know what the deal was.  She wouldn't talk about it.  Not sure if it scared her a little or what.  She does like her better now though.  Just took some getting used to I guess.    LOL! All in all though, the kids were happy and we had a wonderful Christmas!

Brinley's Sweet 6th Birthday!

I can't believe my baby is already 6 years old!  Time is going way too fast!  The day of her birthday she went to school and took cupcakes for a treat.

That night we went to eat at her favorite restaurant.

She got a new car to drive.

For her birthday party this year, she wanted to have a cupcake party.  One of her favorite places to go is the Sweet Tooth Fairy.  She loves to set up shop in her own room and pretend that it's the Sweet Tooth Fairy.  On her bedroom door she has an "open" and "closed" sign.  The boys are such good sports to go to her sweet shop!  So this was the perfect party for her and she loved it!  I'm so thankful for this beautiful girl in my life.  She has brought us so much happiness.  It breaks my heart to see how grown-up she is getting.  Happy Birthday my sweet girl!!  I love you more than words can say!

Decorating their cupcakes.
